Insurance Claims

INSURANCE CLAIMS

The insurance claims process can be intimidating and time-consuming. Most insurance companies want to properly service their client's claims, but it helps when your contractor is familiar with the process. Premier Construction of Virginia is experienced in the claims process and would like to offer you our assistance. If you suspect storm damage on the exterior or interior of your home from a recent storm, contact our company for your free inspection and consultation. If our inspection representative recommends an inspection from your insurance company (adjuster meeting), you should call your insurance carrier’s claims office, not the insurance agent who sold you the policy and file a claim.

RECOMMENDED STEPS TO FILING A CLAIM

Contact Premier Construction of Virginia to have a complimentary free inspection performed by a trained professional. If you have any damage due to a recent storm, we will recommend that you file a claim.

FILE A CLAIM WITH YOUR INSURANCE CARRIER’S CLAIMS OFFICE

The claim filing process will take roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. You will need the date and time in which the storm happened and your policy number. Notify them that Premier Construction of Virginia inspected your property and found evidence of storm damage (wind or hail).

Your insurance will provide you with a claim number, please contact your Premier Construction of Virginia representative as soon as you are given the claim number. This identifies your particular claim and all communication with your insurance must include this number in order to locate your file. To ensure the claim process moves quickly, we will need your help. Although we do communicate with your insurance on your behalf, they may still make calls directly to you and provide you with important information. Your insurance representative or adjuster from your insurance company will contact you within 48 hours in regard to your adjuster’s meeting to schedule a date and time.

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS THAT WILL HELP MAKE SURE WE ARE ABLE TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM ON YOUR BEHALF:

Tell them that Premier Construction of Virginia is your preferred contractor. This makes our communication with your insurance easier.

Be sure to get the adjuster’s name, contact number and the date and time of the meeting. Try to schedule a specific time or narrow time frame for your inspection. Don’t allow a large time window (i.e. 12pm - 4pm).
Premier’s phone number is 703-297-5624

Contact your Premier Construction of Virginia representative with the adjuster’s information, date and time of the inspection as soon as possible. We will make arrangements to be present at your meeting.

NEED A TEMPORARY REPAIR?

Your insurance can authorize any temporary repairs necessary to prevent further damage to your property. Your insurance company will usually require receipts for any emergency repairs you have done in order to reimburse you correctly. Premier Construction of Virginia will take pictures of the damage prior to any repairs. Do not make any permanent repairs until the adjuster has had the opportunity to inspect the damaged area.

ADJUSTER MEETING

The adjuster and your trained professional representative from Premier Construction of Virginia will inspect the entire perimeter of your property as well as inspect the roof and any interior damage. This process takes an average of one to two hours to complete. Our detailed assessment is provided to the adjuster.

PAPERWORK

If your adjuster is in agreement for a roof replacement and any other repairs, you will receive paperwork from your insurance company within a few days. This paperwork will explain what is being covered. We ask that you contact our company and one of our representatives will meet with you to go over the paperwork (insurance scope). After reviewing your insurance scope, we will make sure that you are fully covered and answer any questions you may have regarding your claim. As with any insurance claim, there may be extra items that could be missing or unforeseen at the time of the adjuster meeting. Don’t worry, we will handle all supplements and negations on your behalf to your insurance company.

GETTING YOUR JOB STARTED AND COMPLETED

Following your insurance claims approval, you will have a limited time period to repair any damage that is on your insurance paperwork. After we have discussed your claim process with you and the accuracy of your insurance company’s assessment, our representative will make sure you are fully covered and will discuss any upgrades or changes that will be added to your contract. We will then get your contract signed by you and by our company’s representative. The contract will be turned into our company so that we can get your job scheduled and started.

We require the first payment of your contract before ordering any material. Once the first payment is received, we will then order your material and get you a delivery and installation date. This process will take a few weeks, always weather permitted. Once we get the job going, depending on the work needed, it usually takes a few days to complete the project.

After the work is completed, Premier Construction of Virginia will send an invoice to your insurance company to release the final depreciation amount to you. This amount is held back to make sure your job gets done. We will not send off our letter until all of the work is completed. Your insurance company will review our depreciation release letter and will eventually send you the final payment. That final payment will be paid to you and then you will be paying the final amount owed to our company. Once we get the final payment, we will send you an invoice saying the job is complete and that you paid in full.
